After rebuiling engine and drive train, they are fabricating a body for it to match original

I love the aviation instuments. Also love the size of the fuel tank. Probably enough to make one run at the salt flats.

I wish you could have seen that monster...the tank is probably 20-25 gallons.
I'll post some pics of other projects going on in their shop, it's an ultra hig end restoration shop (for the most part-they do some more mundane projects as special favors for established cutomers).

The small gas tank just isn't practical. You'd be out of gas in about 15-20 minutes at full power...... :p

I'd give my left nut to have that thing....dunno what it's worth, but it's freakin cool as hell.

building the car would not be the problem...getting the engine and parts would.

Bajapower and I postulated on a more modern version based on a gas turbine.

Ride in the MIG-25 at 80,000 ft and near mach 3

Do a Pugachev’s cobra maneuver in a mig 29

I will counter that with the concept of parallel parking the Rocket Powered Monkey Sled.

What did they use for a transmission?

Beats the f@ck out of me...I'll ask Mike in a day or two.
A wild assed guess, based on what I saw on the rest of the construction...some ancient truck tranny.
