Tach is working interemitenly on the Whaler. Tach is new, and there is a new rectifier on the motor. When I first put all this stuff on 2 years ago everything worked fine. The past few times out the tach wont start reading until after the boat has been running on plane for 20 or so minutes. The guage wont start reading until above 2k rpms.

Thoughts?

The switch on back 2,4,6,8, 2cycle or 4stroke. Turn switch back & forth with ign. key off. Sometimes the switches get a little corosion or film build up from moisture. This will clean the switch contact, be sure to set to proper engine configuration.
