The true question would be, why NOT?
Some people just feel that diamond plate goes good on everything. I'll ask my brother, he is one of those people...

I just wonder if there is some rot back there and maybe that was the solution.
When you see an older Jeep with diamond plate in odd sections on the rear, dont you immediately think it might be hiding rust? Nah, those Jeeps dont rust out! ;)

I would also think rotten transom added to strengthen it.

Done that myself a couple times, you should have all the structural stuff I added to the Regal to get it to survive.

Transoms tend to rott often in those boats. So I wouldn't be suprised if it was a fix. On the good side you will have no core problems, because there isn't one. So the bottoms tend to flex. Just walking in the one I have you can feel the bottom move.

Now your thinking! It says OBO, maybe I should give one of my famous kick in the dick offers. Did that a week or so ago and found myself picking up a 2007 Honda 4 wheeler at like 9 pm.

Swap power then sell the sidwinder for whatever you can get out of it. Hell put a quick spray job on it and make a buck or two.

I have sheets of diamond plate couldn't pass up the deal. It has it's place but not on boats.

If the windshield is any good, I know a website where you could get $400 to $500 for it depending on condition. Easy. Lots of threads on there for guys wanting windshields.
