Nobody in my family nor my wife's family has any tatoos
My Bother in law (wife's sister's husband) got one in the marine corps.
Wife's great uncle had a WWII vintage one.
I know several here on the board have them....what is the draw?
I think of getting one once in a while but then again I think about a lot about things (scuicide, murder shooting up, Etc) never had a real want to do it. ;)

Most of you have seen mine, took lots O thought and a few years of scribbled out drawings and mixed thoughts from friends, Blues Brotha watched me thru the pain, I kept thinking of a Casino blow by every time that thing dug into my shoulder blade.
Anyone who says a tatoo doesnt hurt is full of chit, or has never had one across a bone.
I'm pretty sure I wont regret it in 30 years, its about who I am and what I do. ;)

:D I don't really want one but it is WAY too permanent for me. If it would come off in a couple of years without a problem, I'd consider it.

Don't have one and have had more than my fair share of opportunities to get one. My brother has had 5 or so tatoo parties. My cousin's sister-in-law is a tatoo artist and they hold parties where you have to line up 8 or more people to get tatoo's. They start around 11AM and it ends in the wee hours of the morning. A lot of fun believe it or not.
My husband had a fake tatoo on when we dressed up for Halloween. We both really liked it. He doesn't have any right now but I wouldn't be surprised if he got one and I'd be ok with that.
Me, not likely. I keep thinking what would I want on my body for the rest of my life and what's it going to look like when I'm 80?

I dont think I want to go to a "party" to have something done that is going to be stuck on my hyde forever.
To anyone really considering one, ask around and do your homework first. Like anything, good work is expensive.

I heard a story that someone developed a new kind of ink. Supposedly, it is "permanent" but you can get them lasered off without scarring, multiple treatments, and alot cheaper than the present option.
Maybe if that idea takes off I will revisit the idea of getting inked.
I've always wanted a "tramp stamp" on my lower back!!
Just kidding but seriously, I've wanted one on the back of my neck just below the collar line. Sounds painful though.

I'm not a huge fan of wording in tatoos, initials mabe.
Another thing I can not stand is Chineese/Japaneese/Thai wording and symbols...ect....ect...on people who are not of that nationality, and furthermore have absolutley zero knowledge of it.
I saw a guy at the Speedway in Bucyrus, pulled up in an old beat down Camaro gets out has mullet and isnt wearign a shirt. This guy had the freakin Bobcat Equipment logo tatooed on his back WTF!

I have one on my hip. Rebar has the same one as me in the same place. I think we were brother and sister in a previous life or something. I would like another. I already know where and what. It will happen, just do not know when. Ron has two. One he lost a bet and had to get.

My biggest complaint about tatoos is when someone goes to the tatoo joint and picks something meaningless from the wall or from a book. Whats the point? And no womens names, not even if you are married.
There is a contractor working in BAJA this week, bald with most of his head covered in tatoos. If it werent for the tatoos, he kind of looks like ROGUE, but he didnt have a jug in his hand either.

See what happens when you dont have a big jug in your hand.
BTW, after surviving years in an outlaw bike club and many more years in the merchant marines without getting a tat, I am now getting one this winter. It will be a bigger version of this one that is between hollies shoulder blades. Just getting old and wierd I guess.

Ive been kicking around the idea of another one, not sure what tho, I thought about something pirate-ish but then I think of the real meaning of piracy: murdering stealing ect....and dont want either one associated with anything permanetly affixed to my carcass.
Maybe a happy drunk harmless Island Pirate.. :D
I want to take the TANK out for some ink but I'm afraid he will get a pic of Tony tattooed on his a$$
