Ran over to Alum today for a quick boating trip. Managed to fend off the 3.4 thousand fisherman at the ramp. Still had the backfire and sputter when coming onto plane and only could spin to 4200. Which is weird because last year with a bigger prop we could spin to 5400 no problem. was also running hotter then usual (oil and water temps). Brought out the timing light and somehow timing had be retarded way back. Dialed in the timing in gear at idle. Now no problems at take off and can spin up to WOT. Engine is also running much cooler now. Gps was in the RIB from last weekend (working on a project there ;)) and the pitot tube blows off at anything over 57 so no real idea how fast we were going. Although we seemed to develop some new problems. We now need a way to control the yaw. Arse end wants to pass the front. I think we may have done all we can for this hull.. Looks likes its time for a new project :bike:

Congrats. That's alot better than the problems I had with my boat last week. I'm not sure what the problem with mine is. That's for another post I suppose.

Its almost like there is not enough boat in the water, or there is a fierce cross-wind ;)

Once you start running on the prop only, they are a handful, I put a nose cone on the regal when I had it out of the water and it ran much straighter.
