A mini what? 14, or 30? Unless you really have your heart set on one, I highly reccomend something different if your looking for an assault style rifle.

Buy an AR stripped recciever going rate is about $200 and build whatever you want to out of it. The AR platform is like leggos for big kids, you can build anything you want to with the parts.

Hmm, we need to talk, I want to get this going before it is no longer an option. All I have left is a decent shotgun and plinkers and its time to own something with a little more capability.

Good luck finding one for that price now. I bought two from Fin Feather Fur over Christmas at that price, they said they got in 20 and were down to about 10. Although I stopped in not too long ago and they had one sitting in the case still, let your fingers do the walking and call over and see.
Clelands in Toledo had a couple of Colts a couple weeks ago, but the cheaper one was just under $1400. Try B&T Shooting in Lorain, they had some DPMS Sporticals for $770 awhile back, buddy bought one and I really liked it. Actually all of the B&T's usually have a couple of ar's. Also Stonewall in Broadview Heights used to have quite a few, but I haven't been in there in awhile. There is a place in Youngstown I'm going to hit on my way back from B-more tomorrow to see what they have.
They were scarce, and after the latest news I imagine you'd be hard pressed to find one on the shelves. I'm wanting a 1911 myself but if I come across an ar at a decent price I may pick it up instead.
Ammo on the other hand...its around, you just have to look for it.

You gotta know where to look, I bought a Rock River lower 2 weeks ago from Legal Transfers. I havent bought a gun or gun parts from an actuall gun store for several years. Pete at Legal Transfers is THEE MAN for all things Rock River. You simply will not find anything Rock River cheaper or more available than with him. He has lower parts kits comming in tomorrow. NO ONE has any brand of lower parts kits in stock right now. Christ, I called Rock River yesterday and they said they didnt have any, but somehow Pete is still getting the goods. Tom, one good thing about it is, on an AR the lower is by ATF standards "the gun" its the serialized part that you would have to have shipped to a local gun store and pay a "paperwork fee" for your instant background check, usually about $25. Every single last other part that goes on theese things can be bought from any online retailer and shipped directly to you just like boat parts.
