I would have to forget how to boat.

I would definately entertain getting a captains liscence from instructors who have plenty of real open ocean expereience. Being taught how to be a "Captain" by someone who has some expereince boating on the same body of water as I do every weekend and has went through a few extra channels to be able to "instruct" is of little interest to me.

It would pretty much be like Team Baja joining the Coast Guard and being taught what is the bow, what is the stern and what is the motor, anchor ect...

Hell, now that you mention it I could be a REAL WORLD BOATING instructor. Id have Chad as my trusty sidekick teaching things like beer to ice ratio in the cooler, how to drink out a storm, crane game technique (yes, it has everything to do with boating), how to blame someone else for that puke down the side of the boat, etc, etc, etc...........
