Check out this very small boat on EBAY. What is it worth needing engine and drive work? The boat itself seems to have some potential to be decent looking.

Obviously its nobodys dream boat, but if it can be bought cheap enough who knows, it may be my cheap little floating motel for a couple months.

Why would you tear apart the engine if nothing is wrong?

I wonder if anything on the transom assembly is cracked after that.

If the engine was intact and running, all it needed was a drive, its value would be 1-1.5k. Maybe 500 with the engine being apart.

The whole story about tearing down the engine just to check it out is a huge line of bullsh!t........evidently his idiot "mechanic" has never heard of a compression test, among other things.

There was an ebay anoouncement about that a while back, they are trying to cut down on the bogus second chance offers. Something about certain auctions over $200.
I, for one, do not like the new system, but as usual, we have to coddle and protect those that are too stupid to avoid being scammed.
The local paper (Ohio) lists in the police beat just about every other day where some idiot has fell for the bougus money order/certified check "send me the balance " ploy and got screwed out of some big bucks.

Apparently its something EBAY is doing.

I know a big part of it is EBAY doesnt want you making deals after the sale, because they dont get their cut.

I cant have the kind of fun I used to have on the RED ROCKET on the company boats. Not worth the risk. Remember, its because of the mistakes of 2 of my friends that got fired that opened this job up!;)

I knew you price was off, but I didnt think it would bring that much.
