The downside is you are constantly subjected to views such as this:

Dont forget the tree on the right. Has potential for a killer treehouse, great for those drunken nights when you just cant make it all the way home.

What's the deal with the prices? The wife saw that and asked when we are moving!
I'll need a little bigger garage though.

I was too late on that house...it sold a week ago for $149,000.
There are plenty more like it down here, been scouting real estate in my spare time.
Telling ya, this is the place to live.....low housing costs, low property taxes, no state income tax, beautiful weather, freindly people.

Why are they so cheap, no industry (money), hurricanes, weather, insurance, neighbors, come on man what gives. More pics too, are there any airports around? Thanks Rob

It's just the way it is in Texas. It's wide-open, frontier-land.
My brother just bough a 4000 sqft home on 3 acres about 10 miles outside of Houston for 180K.

Anywhere that is south of Quintana and North of Holoday Beach is pretty cheap...especially if you go inland a little. The area is full of petrochemical plants, but other than that the economy is cotton, ranching, or shrimping.
I imagine hurricane insurance is somewhat higher than it is in Sandusky.
I'll post some more pics in a couple days.
As for airports.....yeah, but smaller ones.
