People here in Mentor lagoons said Coast Guard told them to expect 3-6 foot storm surge into the marina. Hope it doesn't happen, hope we got the lifts high enough if it does.

Nice tree Tim. Can't wait to see the video.

Power was out here for hours. The neighbors lost some siding, my mom lost a corner of shingles. Got a lot of litter cleaned out of this hood, moved it on to the next. The dogs wanted nothing to do with the outside today.

Amazing the difference between different areas.

Over near Maumee, we had some rain bands but less wind than expected. I had some leaves stuck to the car. That was about it.

Down in Bowling Green a friend said the wind was bad.

Obviously Bucyrus had enough wind to start stripping roofs.

Up here in Monroe this morning, there are whole trees down.

The wind can really whip through BG. I remember how brutal it was.

I got a text from my boss this morning telling me not to bother to come into work because there is no power. I'm still at Tony's right now. Oddly we do have power so I'm staying put. My parents and friends that I've talked to in Cincy don't have any power at all. They said they've been told to expect 3 to 4 days without it.

Delaware Marine had a pontoon boat, w/ trailer still attached blow over and was leaning against a telephone pole. Pretty wild seeing the tires up in the air and the tung sticking out.

Got to work and they sent us home, no power.

My daughter called from Columbus, they got hit pretty bad too! Could be 5 to 7 days before they have power back.:(

Kids' school is cancelled....just about all schools in the area are closed. We never lost power or cable though they flickered several times. Time to get out the chainsaw and clean up.

Lost power here last night around 6:30, came back on sometime in the night, only lost one tree. I am lucky! parents still dont have power and are living out of the RV, trees down all over the farm, crops deystroyed, dad lost some roofcap on the shop(right above where my TRS drives are in the storage end). 3 phase is down at work, 110 is sketchy. I spend most of the morning driving around checking on freinds, family, and elderly neibhors. All you heard all day was chainsaws buzzing everywhere. I cut up one medium sized tree and am whooped. Guess Im outta practice. Well make do, always have, always will. ;)

As I am an adult and don't live with mommy no action shots I can add, but can say the 2 PM drive down to VA Sunday was interesting to say the least.
The one freaking weekend I drive the Super Duty home instead of a rental car, Ike to f@ck us up. It was impossible to stay in my lane till I got to WV.

Always prepared at home with the genset , one simple connection and they were good to go. Usually 40 + gallons of gas in storage, plenty to siphon out of vehilcles if needed...hell the Baja is always full, could go to storage building and drain it.

Shake my head at our friends and neighbors, no genset and no idea wft to do.

Ive got access to a "spare" iffen I ever need it, kinda why Ive been hesitant on buying one. Food, heat, and water, are never a problem. Its all those silly luxuries that could possibly suffer in times of emergency

I'm still running on mine:( We have everything but A/C if I need heat the wood burner will get fired up.

I do have to pick and choose what I power up, she is taking a shower and had to turn off the hot water tank so the well pump can run. They can both run at the same time just strains the Gen at about 95%

The one thing I never thought I'd say is that it's very expensive to be off the grid!

Bomar76

We can't run the A/C or hot tub, and of course can't run the whole freakin house with everything on at once (like we ever do), but beyond that it's life as normal on the genset.

Still listening to the Gen running:(

Reminds me of Green Acres when Lisa had to plug in just the right amount of cords into the outlet so it would not blow! Well I had the same conversation trying to explain why we could not run the dishwasher last night, I felt just like Oliver :Drunk101:

I remember when I was 10 and fixed all the neighborhoods tube TV's and one of the neighbor ladies came over during a power outage and ask me if her car would start. Kinda ruined my impression of female intelligence for years. Now I know better of course. Intelligence is directly related to how much they put out. Finally got my 3 phase back at work today around 5p.m.

Mom and dad still dont have power at the house and dont seem to really care. Ive offered the past two nights for them to come over for dinner with no avail. last time I talked to dad this afternoon he was kicked back in his recliner with the AC cranked, drinking a cold beer and watching the western channel on satelite in the RV while mom made dinner.

Wow, that sounds harsh from me. Guess 20 hrs a day in this plant with people with no intelligence is getting to me. Back to my lunch break.

Still no power at my work. I called around to my clients this morning. Luckily only one of them needs some work done. I'm trying to cut down on the hassle when we finally do have email and power again at work.
