This week was my first trip to the east side of New York and first time in New Jersey. I cant imagine why anyone would want to live like they live up there, its insane. I can understand games like Grand Theft Auto 100% better now, and how they came about.

Last time I was in New Jersey/NYC (other than going through LaGuardia) was my trip to Hackensack/Manhatten back in 2004(?)
I loath that area, the cities, the traffic, the people, every stinking thing about it.

Here's a very large bridge we crossed. Lots of tolls up that way, most arent cheap.

We went thru by boat. It was pretty kewl to see it from the water without having to be amongst em. I would never have went unless I had to. (got paid to make the trip)
Spent about an hour or so in the city then hauled azz up river. very nice country 10-15miles up river. Been there-done that. Now I'll never go back.

That was the original plan. It was supposed to be roughly a 2 1/2 hr trip each way by boat from our location. I was given a loaner GPS with the whole trip already marked out, all I had to do was follow the tracks. Piece of cake I thought. WRONG! For starters, most of the channel markers were out for the winter. 2nd, there was zero room for error. If you would even begin to get off his tracks, you were done. Im talking 2' or less of water. At first I thought the depth finder was screwing up, but checked the depth with a pole and it was correct. It got to be too nerve wracking after 1/3 of the way there, so I turned around. Didnt want to get stuck in unfamiliar water this time of year and not know who to call.

We put in at Haverstraw, spent the night there. Ran down the Hudson thru the city the next day, out to the Atlantic then back to Liberty landing to visit some friends at the poker run. Then we ran 50 some miles up thru bear mountain (awsome)to Newburgs nice little waterfront district and spent another night. Then back down to the Tapan Zee to watch the poker runners. Hung out and headed home later that day.
Had to make a delivery near there so it paid for most of the trip. Kewl experience:)

Despite my better judgement, I took a bump on this AM's direct flight to Houston for another free ticket.
I left 15 minutes later for Newark NJ to catch a flight to Houston.
I am a whore for free tickets.
If they didn't bump me to first class on both legs I'd never do it.
Still I regretted it as soon as we left CMH.....and of course, there was a big azzed delay leaving Newark.
Ended up getting to Houston 4 hours later than I planned.

I wasnt even able to get on plane much that day. I guarantee that boat would have been buried for sure if I did.

Wouldn't be so bad if it were your boat. I'm thinkin the dealer wouldn't like you telling 'em you took the boat mudding!
