I renewed my mebership, I got my shirt and it was a medium, everyone knows I am a fat azz and a medium will not fit me, I emailed them, here is the response..
"Unfortunately, the XXL is out if stock and the shirt sizes we send out aren't guarantee to be your size. We apologize for the inconvenience."
WTF is the point of having a shirt that does not fit??
So I sent them another messege telling them that was bull and that they could have told me about it and I would have gotten a cheaper membership...
and not got a shirt...
FUKERS have my money now!! I am a little pizzed about that, I know last year this would have been taken care of.

That place has just completely gone downhill.
There are only a handful of guys that I liked to read their posts that are still there.
That handful is the reason I still go there. Or has it just become habit?

This place seems more like the old days on OSO, people just bustin' each other ballz, and hook up to go boating or drinking:DrunkAgain:
OSO turned into "My boats bigger, I make more money, My boats faster, my engines are louder, Here's the group of strippers that got naked on my boat, ROCK ON, IT'S A SKATER NATION"...
It seemed to turn that way really quickly, or maybe it just slapped me in the face one day.
At least this site seems to have real people.
Come'on - this is still somewhat of an "Offshore" type crowd, but we all have to admit that one of the coolest boats owned by a member on this site is the ATF.
First time I saw pics of that thing it was "I want a ride!"

I don't remember my original member number but it is in the hundreds since I have been a member since 1/24/2001. I only have 823 posts there.
Most of my posts are in the tech section and some in the baja section. I rarely post now.
The board went from help driven to money making. Here are my reasons:
1) Swap Section disappeared
2) Classified section is overpriced for small items.
3) Minimum advertiser cost is $2500 per year (thats a lot of gauges)
4) Evertime you ask for help there are 5 responses back from somebody selling you something.
5) Porn site section
6) Sleezy member like Troutly, Too Old, PackinAir, etc
7) Lack of knowledge base in the tech section
I know I'm a prime offender here in the BS threads, but I feel I know most of you

Agreed. That's why I came over here.
Seemed like real people, acting like they would in person.
OSO lost too many great members that made all the difference. Like McCollinstn, Bonnie Outlaw, etc.
I went back and read all of the cool posts from people back in 2005 when my niece gave a kidney to my sister. ("If I have prayed for you and you know who you are." Feb. 2005) The same people who now are running with the puberty mafia were on the thread talking about what's important in life. (friends, health, family, community, brotherhood, faith, hope, love.)
It is an interesting contrast to what is important on OSO these days. It's especially odd to see people refer to their faith back then, who would never do it on OSO now.
As far as I see it, everything changes.
What a nice thing for the Erie boaters to have this site to keep in touch and help each other out.
That's what I want to have as my experience here. Helping people out. I hope that all members here feel free to ask if there is anything that they need help with.

Back in the day the tech support that you got from other members was excellent. You would get several similar replies to tech questions. Nowadays you get 10 completely different responses that turn into a pi$$ing match about who knows more, and the thread starter is now more confused than before becase he doesnt know whos advise to take.

But even then, you still had to root through the BS especially from the so called experts who might have published a book. I always had fun catching people singing 2 different storys as time went on. But you are right, the amount of misinformation and "I know better than you" is amazing. It all pretty simple but the difference in opinions is amazing. Most of the people whose opinion I trusted havent been on there in a long time. I guess they got tired of trying to support their views among hoards of wanna be engine builders and magazine readers.
