OK...just finished switching all the company phone lines and home to sunrocket (like vonage). I must say I love it. Anyone else use VIOP?

We toyed witht he idea of switching home lines to Voice over Internet, but instead just did away with land lines entirely and went to all cellular for everyone. The savings for us to go internet really wasn't that great over landline.
If I still was in business for myself (especially if I needed to make international calls)I would have gone the IP route, but it really didn't have any advantages for us given the situation.

The cost savings for a business is huge. The more you use your phones the more you save. I have a strata DK40 now in my house and the hook up was really easy.

Our Brazil office phone communicates with us over the internet. There is a delay but otherwise seems fine.

OK, maybe I'm just stupid but I have a question.

If we have Internet through the phone company, which we do, we can't get rid of our home phone, correct? We rarely use the home phone, but our business is run out of our home and we have to have the internet.

That dilema kept me from switching earlier. I did find that some phone companies will do a DSL only line.

When I moved the company to my home I have to get high bandwith with static IP's so I went with Cable Modem.

I also found that when I added up all the extras (call waiting, forwarding, caller ID, long distance) I was saving alot of $$$.

My I suggest you keep just one line with no adders (like your home line) and switch extra lines to VOIP.

For those of you using cable for internet and you know who you are.....what are you waiting for?

Probably cause the line in Brazil is slow.

Melissa is using it here to work out of the house. It has worked out well for her. Only problem occ. is if the internet is down.
