On up the coast, another drive on beach near Freeport.....really out of the way place. You can drink all you want on the beaches, just no glass containers allowed.

The water at the last beach was pretty brown, may be from the surf being a little rough, dunno. I plan on going back to the last one in a weekend or two. There is a little stilt town there w/ a really friendly dive bar, $2 longneck beers, cheap boiled shrimp (right off the boat). Gonna just hang out for a day or two.

The ferry across Aransas Pass is pretty cool. Took it on my way to Rockport. Free, runs 24/7, just makes the 1/4 mile run across the channel. Looks like the current there is pretty fierce. The ride is so quick I didn't have time to hop out and snap any pics.

The only thing that is bad about that area is the average high is in the 90's for June, July and August
