This is what I fell in love with/was waiting for when I had ar-15 fever a couple months ago, luckily that has passed and I only bought one M&P 15.

Cool gun, I just don't have any use for. I think I put maybe 3 boxes of rounds through the one I did buy (the M&P), I would get rid of it but figure what the hell may as well hang on to it, probably pick up a RRA 20" bull barrel upper for it at some point. I just wish I would have bought a Marine 870 instead, oh well.

Still trying to justify a DPMS 300 SAUM, not as expensive as the SABR but the ammo is like $50 a box for the saum!!!:Pirate7:

Bullets and powder. ;) cuts your cost way down, with theese oddball calibers you cant afford not to reload. It also cuts the size of your groups way down by tailoring ammo to your specific rifle. Ive got the LR-308 and after some tweaking and tunning have managed to get it to shoot sub MOA. Thats what they advertize for "out of the box" accuracy but this one needed some help.
I'm still trying to bring myself to buying a .338 Lapua. 3 to 5k for the undressed rifle, another 2 to 3 k for all the goodies, then add $3 per round on reloaded ammo all for something with pretty short, barrel lifespan.:Pirate7:

That's funny because the LR-308 was the gun I pretty much decided would probably be better off getting than the SAUM, so overall you are pretty happy with it? What did you have to do to make it shoot better other than the handloads?

Well I started off right out of the box with a Jard 2.5 lb trigger, it would touch holes at 100, but at 200 the shots were all over the paper both on the bipod and in a Caldwell lead sled. Finally I got fed up enough to send it back to DPMS, they tell me that the trigger is the problem that its way too light. They replace it with a JP and send it back the gun now shoots sub moa barely at 200 with Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr. Havent done any handloads for it yet. I hate the pull on this JP trigger tho and will probably be switching it yet again to a Geisele. Shoulda just bit the bullet and bought it right off the bat and eliminated all of the headaches. Its real close to being what I want but not quite there yet.
I also hate the loong distance between the grip and the trigger on all AR platforms, even with a big fat aftermarket grip its just to close for me to get a comfortable trigger pull, Im thinking of adding one of those spacers from Sinclair International. If your serious about buying one and want a new one check out www.Rguns.com they had the best deal going when I bought mine and they can order them in any configuration that you want.

Thanks I'll keep that site in mind if/when I finally decide to do it. It's definitely on the list, just right now its behind a few other things like new stereo for the boat, intercom system for the boat, gas for the boat...basically anything for the boat as long as its summertime! You know how that goes...

Yeah, my shooting wish list came to a screetching halt when I started working on the boat again. Now every night when I come home from work to let the dog out then hurry off to the shop to work on the boat, I hear one of the neihbors shooting........but....but......grrrrrr!!! Once the re rig is done then I'm leaving the gas part up to Donzi. :D

Ive had a 552 for a few years on a sub gun and F'in love it. They hold calibration and will dim/bright to any lighting imaginable. The cool part is unlike scope crosshairs, the recticle on the EO will "follow" your eye around somewhat. The only downside is unless you buy the redicuoulsy expensive magnifiers your stuck with the 1X magnification.
