Looking at purchasing first hand gun.

The guns I've recently shot at the range so far:

Glock 40 - Nice Gun.
SIG 40 - Also, a nice gun.

What others would you recommend for someone not wanting to spend a fortune but still wanting a decent gun for the range?

I'm looking at getting into it for the sport and down the road get my CCW.

If you had posted this about 2 weeks ago I would have given you a smokin deal on a Glock 23.

Glock is nice, Springfield XD seems to be the new rave.

Best thing to do is find a range with a deccent rental dept. and rent several, the rental rates are usually cheap. Buy the one that you are most comfortable with that is in your price range. The .40 S&W caliber is a good first choice, .45acp takes some getting used to, and 9mm is a tad on the small side.

Generally speaking smaller frame sized pistols used for conceal carry usually arent something that you will enjoy shooting all day at the range, unless of cousre its an HK P7.

Definitely rent and shoot as many different ones as you can before you buy. I have quite a few different makes and calibers, but I usually shoot my 9mm the most as the ammo is decently priced. My 9 is a Glock 17. Fits my hand great and is super easy to shoot.
