Hey guys and gals, over on TeamBajaMarine.com we are trying to put together a weekend get together up at PIB. Maybe some of you would like to come over to the forum and help us out with this since most of the members here are from that area..

the one weekend is Islandfest at Kelleys....i know u dont wanna miss that tim, then again, although im sure Xmas in july isnt a bad idea either

I thought Islandfest was the weekend before, I will check it, Xmas at the bay is not going to happen, Kelleys for me, everyone I know will be at Kellsys and I can get a dock choice at Kelleys:cool1:

Yeah i know, usually its the same weekend, has been for the last like 8 years, so im assuming it is again
We aren't commited to PIB we are open to do anything. Make a post over on the TBM thread about this party at Kelly's and we will go from there. Personnally I would like to see our group combine with your group and make this into one huge party, plus I can get to meet some of you guy's.
Sure I can bring my 320 up also!!!!!! I want to get it in some really big water.. The last time I was up there with my 265 force I had water coming over the bow it was freaking some rough chit!!!!:Boating98: :Boating98:

If you do kelleys at Islandfest it is the best! I have done it for years, the trick is to get in the marina at the Casino Fri or at the latest first thing Sat to get good docks, Kelleys would be the better party in my opinion, 90% of this site will be at Kelleys that weekend. It is the weekend of the 25TH

Hey Dave another site for ya to moniter while your out there driven. Hopefully between here and TBM we can get something put together and make this a great weekend for all of us newbies!!!!!

Yea just what I needed....but this looks l ike a cool site Jeff and I agree if we can get TBM and here together could be a rockin weekend. Hope Chris can do both weekends within a month that would be sweet. Got the run up in Detroit in June and now looks like this one in July.

If you are condidering X-mas in July on PIB, consider going up Wednesday night, the docks are usually full by mid day Thursday. Also consider 10k drunk disrespectfull idiots falling and puking all over the place (your boat included).
PIB once a year with LEOPA is about all I care to do anymore. The rest of the time were at Kelleys

Yea I definately can see us needing 15-20 spots at the dock...This could turn into quite a fun weekend for us by the time the 25th gets here.

IslandFest and X Mas weekend is when everybody comes out of the woodwork..Marinas on both islands are absolutly PACKED! Its real easy to "not be able to find a spot" I am by no means trying to discourage anyone from coming, but I would hate to see a large group of people coming from far away get their weekend plans ruined becase they couldnt find a dock.

I agree Thrill. I don't know if I can work that miracle. You could always get there thursday evening.. from what I remember the docks are pretty much empty then.

The last 3 yrs I went on Friday early afternoon and had no problems, very little going on until around 5-6:00 there has been plenty of docking but if you are a for sure deal, come up Thursday or first thing Friday, then you get very good dock choice, docks for smaller boats fill up faster anyway, we did not have anyone in front row last year until Fri evening.

If it was me i would dock at Kelley`s and use the jet to party at the bay. Gonna be way too many water cops out there this year with the new bui task force. The jets like 15 bucks round trip and it runs about every hour.

Sweet.. I plan to have my boat ready and have some hrs on it by then, it would be nice to run my own boat, my 24 footer was not worth the hassle, I would have been there an hour after evryone else!

Just talked to Donzi, she brought it to my attention that there could be 20-25 boats, I thought we were still around 5-10 boats.
If there is going to be 20+ boats I would say reserve space at Portside and walk across the dock to the casino, they are next to each other, otherwise maybe do a different weekend, at that point we caould prob get docks reserved if we had a count and there was no poker runs. Reserving at Portside may need to be done early in the season.
We have time to work out any details, don't forget the Fun run... that would be a good weekend also and it is a good time with alot of locals.

Might be boring but at least you can get some sleep at Portside.....I guess I'm old.....staying up all night listening to people partying off their boat until 4AM doesn't excite me anymore....

With that large group you may want to look at other weekends where nothing is planned. I'm with Donzi, the June fun run would be a good weekend.
We're talking of doing that this year. We have a wedding that weekend, but our friends (who's daughter is getting married) is like screw the wedding, go boating!

Of the 40 boats @ the casino in this picture......I think I recognize all but 1.....there is a boat with a blue camper top up near the front with an orange flag....anyone know who this is?

That was the Baja PR last year? We were locked out of the Casino all day because of it. Finally got in hours later, ate supper and a storm came in. Left.
The Blue camper top had a family in it fishing. Had an electric fan running in the side of the canvas. Looked like they were living there to me.

I'm guessing you where there with them! Sorry I had to miss PIB/Kelly's in 2008 economy kicked my ass, but I'm looking at making something happen this summer hopefully..
