On the Baja, the bolsters have a couple anchors coming out of the floor, looks like little inserts that mounted to the floor before, is there a better way to do this? I thought maybe putting down a small piece of steel to the floor and then bolt the bolsters to that for more surface area, what else can I do to keep them mounted?
Floor is not rotted, just 21 yrs of the bolsters getting stress.
OK, not fat comments..

Cut a 6" hole under the bolster. buy the plastic access plates they use for fuel tank access. cut plates to go under the floor and through bolt the bolsters. I have been down that road before.

What birdog said. Or depending on how the boat is layed out, you may be able to do thee ole reach around from different spots.
Since my deck/floor is solid glass with no core, I lagg screwed mine in, and used about 36 screws per base. I am 110% confident that the T-nuts would rip out of the bolster wood before anything else came loose.
I made the mistake of building my bolster frames out of 2x2x1/4" steel tube, overkill is not always better. I could probably pick up 5mph by getting rid of the 500lbs of steel in the cockpit.

Yea, I did not even think of that! I could use a big washer from under to do it, I am always nervous about cutting a fllor, not knowing whats under it!

Is there an access plate in the center walkway?

Big hole saw, or Rotozip with circular cutting "atache-ment" :D start shallow and gradually cut deeper until your through.

There was a wing-anchor type thing that I used to use when doing bathtub refurbishes for the handicap grab handle. It was rated at 200#'s each, and it only required a drill hole, slip it in, and the wings sprung out.
Might be worth looking into.

A toggle bolt, I thought of that but not sure what is under it to see if I have room, I may just cut the floor and see what I am dealing with.

Why not just use a backing plate underneath instead of washers?

I will most likely, the bolster bolts to the center floor piece, I am pretty sure the gas tank is right under it, would anyone know how much room I have to work before I cut a hole? your brother??
I also need Adams number so I can call him on some parts.

Pop out the center piece, thats the only way your gonna find out whats under there.

That would be alot of work, the whole rear seat would have to come apart, it also slips under the dash at each corner, maybe set a cut bit at 1" and cut it, then see what is there.. there has to be some clearance between it and the gas tank.
