Did something pretty cool today, Ran the Deuce in the popcorn festival at Marion. A guy contacted me about a month ago saying there were some VFW members who couldn't walk the parade route and wanted to know if i was interested in hauling them with some banners. Figured sure why not, might get to fight a cop or something along the way, (thats usually how parades go anyway.) Turned out to be pretty neat. I was the second truck after the color guard in the parade. Lots of standing ovations and salutes. Before the parade started i was even interviewed by the Marion star paper. Only got one pic but other peoples will be emailed to me. Will post when i receive them.

North Union High School senior Nigel Pence drove what was likely one of the most armored vehicles in the parade, a deuce-and-a-half (2.5 ton) military truck that he bought at an auction. He answered a request by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3313 to haul about 15 World War II veterans in the parade.
Pence, whose mother Barb Pence was an Army field medic, said he was happy to help out the servicemen. He said the truck has been a great conversation piece since he bought it and started driving it to school.
"When I turned 16 I said I wanted a Porsche," said Pence. He said his dad, Joe Pence, told him that they would "stick you with the slowest safest thing we could."
"It started out as a joke," he said. "It just kind of snowballed."
